Course FAQs

Are you covered by insurance?

Not usually. Coaching is not covered by insurance. In some cases, if you have a Health Care Spending Plan you may be approved to use a portion of your savings for coaching, but this usually needs to be approved by your Plan Administrator.

Can we meet in person?

I conduct all my meetings on Zoom. We will be face to face for all our sessions. The reasons I choose to meet online are as follows:

    • It saves you time - no driving to and from my office
    • You can keep your meeting no matter where you are, even on vacation, so long as you have a stable internet connection.
    • I find most clients feel the most comfortable in their own homes or cars, rather than in an office setting which can feel more clinical.
    • You do not need to be “dressed up”. Your sweats and a t-shirt is fine on zoom!
    • Showing up in person eats into your session time. There’s usually small talk (weather, traffic, what you did on the weekend, etc) that naturally occurs in person, but is much less online. This means you get more minutes of coaching per hour.
What if my internet connection is bad?

In all my years of coaching this has only happened once or twice. In most cases, it’s easily resolved. Last minute options include a phone-call session, or a Face-Time or Video call on data, and in the worst case scenario we could reschedule the call which is at my discretion at that time.

How many sessions will I need?

Carla Anne offers a free Strategy Session to help you determine this. Each person’s situation is unique. Carla Anne will lay out options for you that help you decide what your best and most economical choices are.

What if I can’t afford the sessions?

In some cases (grief, healthy lifestyle coaching, etc) the group sessions are by far the most economical you will find anywhere! These would be your best options if one-on-one coaching is out of your budget.

In rare situations, a scholarship may be available.

How do scholarships work?

If a scholarship is recommended, you will be asked for financial information. You will also be asked to find a sponsoring organization (such as a local church, a support group, a family member or friend group, or an outreach organization, etc) to pay for a portion of your sessions.

Once these requirements have been met, you will be required to pay for a portion of your sessions. The difference between what you pay, what your sponsoring organization pays for will be covered by scholarship, provided the scholarship fund has adequate funds at the time of your request.

How can I contribute to the Scholarship Fund?
  • Individuals: If you would like to contribute to the scholarship fund, simply contact us and we will ensure you receive information about how to donate. Please note: There is no tax-deductible receipt for donations to the scholarship fund.
  • Churches, Businesses, or Organizations:
    • You can choose to pay toward a specific person’s coaching.
    • You can indicate and commit to covering someone’s coaching in advance. In this case, when a situation arises, you will be contacted by Refinery Transformation Solutions to confirm the amount. Please note: there is no tax-deductible receipt for donations, however, you will be given a receipt that can be used as an expense.
    • You can donate to the Scholarship Fund at any time. You will be given a receipt to indicate payment for services to be rendered in the future. You will not be contacted when the funds are distributed.
